LifeSpring is a 501(c)(3), not-for-profit Community Mental Health Center which began as a small outpatient clinic for children in the city of Jeffersonville, Indiana in 1964. In 1970, with the help of a federal grant, the agency moved to a larger facility. Between 1973 and 1999, the agency continued to grow and satellite offices were opened in the surrounding counties of Floyd, Harrison, Jefferson, Scott, and Washington. In 1976, the Center was approved as a Medicaid and Medicare provider. In 1995, LifeSpring added School Outreach Services and Home Based Services for children. Currently LifeSpring operates two supervised group living homes for adults suffering from severe mental illnesses, developmental problems, and substance abuse.

Wellstone Regional Hospital is a 100-bed psychiatric hospital for children, adolescents, adults and geriatric patients. Comprehensive outpatient services are also available for partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs.What separates Wellstone from all others is absolute dedication to the respect of each individual human being, with an emphasis on restoring hope.
